LULAC’s National Educational Service Center – Kansas City (LNESC-KC) provides Program and Non-Program volunteer opportunities. Program volunteers will have direct contact with LNESC-KC students and their parents or guardians for various durations, based on program duration and volunteer availability.

Non-Program volunteers will have short-term projects with limited time commitments. (e.g., working at information/fundraising booths at Fiesta in the Heartland, help setup, working in the LNESC KC office, etc.)

Program Volunteer Opportunities

  • Upward Bound – Assist Upward Bound program participants with homework on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the target school, or at the LNESC KC center on Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • Hispanic Leadership Opportunity Program (HLOP) – Character development program for young Hispanic students. Program is conducted after school and on weekends.

Non-Program Volunteer Opportunities

  • Administrative or Clerical Work in our office
  • Special Event Support – Fundraising at Fiesta Hispana
  • Other Special Projects – Upward Bound Field Trips
